Welcome Note..!
by Gunjan Jain on Jun.15, 2010, under Technical - Testing
Hi,
I have been in dilemma since the day I joined my company. And dilemma was about the work I was going to do for probably rest of my IT life. Being a fresher, you do not have a say when it comes about your domain. I was given Software Testing Domain which I hated. The obvious reason was I wanted to design some cool apps but not test them. How boring??
But It did not take longer for me to realize the fact that Testing is much more difficult and appealing than Development.
You get to learn a lot in software testing . Believe me, It is really a lot. But at the same time, when it comes to attend an interview, I am tellin you…. very high probability that you screw it. I screwed up, too.
Mostly, you are asked for your theretical knowledge which I believe, most of young minds never give any consideration after graduation. I agree to the fact that to support good practical knowledge, one should have sound knowledge about what is testing all about BUT What is more important? whether one is able to test an application at all or If one knows what is the difference between sanity and smoke testing?
Here is a link to what Mr. Pradeep Soundararajan (Test Consultant, Coach, Author, Speaker and Mentor) has to say about “Testing Interview in India”
http://www.testertested.qualityfrog.com/TBSSTII.pdf
I am a professional Software Test Engineer and looking forward to servere this internet world with some good write-ups on testing…..Practical but not the theretical one.
Drop me a comment incase of any query and I will surely get back to you.

A break needed….!
by Gunjan Jain on May.25, 2010, under General
I have been on a big break from my blog and here again writing to have break but this time, not from my blog but from day-to-day things happening in and around my life. be it personal front or professional front.
Quite a lot have been going on and I talk and talk and talk even more about them but could not land up at any conclusion finally what ever I decide, turns out to be the worst decision of my lifetime. Like this ways, I have worst decision-1,2 and so on.
I wonder why things can not be as simple as an ice-cream. Simple mix of milk and flavors and freeze it. why can not have answers to everything in simple words? why do we need to have options for everything?
No answer. Need a break to find answers to my questions and have to find out all by myself.
A Poem, From a Friend , To a Friend…!

Dance Upon The Wind.
by Intimate Knight
I wasn’t looking for it, but some how it came, and found me.
Before I had a chance to react, it wrapped it’s warmth around me.
Like a thief in the night, it has come and gone.
I have nothing, but that vision to reflect upon.
Until chance comes again, I’ll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.
All day long, in my mind, I walk love’s lonely street.
Like a tired man that longs to sit, but just can’t find a seat.
Then, there it was again, up ahead, to light my way.
Only to vanish once more, just like all my yesterdays.
Until chance comes again, I’ll let my thoughts dance upon the wind.
I don’t know where I’m going, and where I’ve been isn’t much to speak of.
I just know my heart is always showing, leading me to some far off love.
Just when I give up the fight.
Here it comes to make the bad things good, and the wrong things right.
Only to leave me lost and lonely again.
Drifting away as my thoughts dance upon the wind.
It has a name, I think they call it friend.
Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai…!

Believe it or not but this is what I want to sing when I propose my Dream Boy.
Simple lyrics yet very touching. Touches your heart and relieves your soul. Listen to it with your Dream boy/Girl in your mind , You will find your self in the Heavenwards.
Na jaane kab yeh hua
Na kisi ko khabar
Na khud ko pata
Khoye khoye rehte
Hum yahan hai
Silsilo ka silsila hai
Hua shuru abb jo nikle bhi jaan
Abb se humraahi chahton ke
Yeh jaise phela nasha.
Woh pheli nazar phela gumaar
Yun lage mohabbat hi jahan hai
Doston ki dosti yaaron ki yaari kam lagne lagi
Behke hai hum behka yeh sama hai
Kaise samjhaau tumjhe
Mera phela phela pyaar hai yeh
Aankhon mein aitbaar hai yeh
Mera phela phela pyaar hai yeh
Aankhon mein aitbaar hai yeh
Hawa bhi mili thi humein
Jhokon mein pooch rahi thi
Pyaar yeh agar nahi to phir kya hai
Aye aasmaan tu bhi aajkal saang chalta hai
Saaath leke chanda taare ..
Kaise samjhaau tujhe
Mera phela phela pyaar hai yeh
Aankhon mein aitbaar hai yeh
Mera phela phela pyaar hai yeh
Aankhon mein aitbaar hai yeh
Mera phela phela pyaar hai yeh
Aankhon mein aitbaar hai yeh

By now , Every Indian must have got to know about the Oscar-Day of India. Kudos to AR Rahman. For Rahman’s score of Slumdog Millionaire, He won the Critics’ Choice Award, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and two Academy Awards in 2008 out of his three nominations. Cheers to Rahman and Slumdog Millionaire’s Crew.
Do you know how much were young actor/actresses paid ? Few Thousand Pounds? NO. Few Hundred Pounds. Yes, Don’t be spellbound. They were born and are being brought up in the slums of Dharavi, a suburb of Mumbai, where, Slumdog Millionaire was actually filmed. I dont understand why SM is being considered as a movie. I believe Slumdog Millionaire should be declared as a Documentary. It is no less than a documentary on India’s Poverty. It has showcased Poverty, Corruption, lunacy for Amitabh Bachchan, 1993 Riots and what not. Full Mumbai Darshan in 2Hrs. I have not seen the movie. Infact , I have no urge to watch it . I did try to watch it but could stand only 15 odd minutes of the movie. You can call Coward GJ. I won’t mind.
I am sure all big Indian Directors must have started digging in all the books on Indian poverty by now . You never know , someone can bag an Academy award. They must be regretting. How come they missed aamci mumbai. damn! Anyways, We are taught to see the half-filled glass. Congratulations to all my Indian Fellows. We have got “India” carved in golden words in Academy Award’s History.
To Slumdog Millionaire , Accept my hearty congratulations. For the benefit of all, Indian Poverty will always be there to get exploited and serve even better.

No. Don’t wonder. It’s not about any new version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. It’s about “The Indian Express List of the Most Powerful Indians in 2009″. This Sunday when I got my hands on news paper , I saw an extra 32Pages booklet as suplement. My curious mind made me to read it first. The intention was not to know the Powerful Indians but to be very frank, To see if I have my company’s(Wipro Group) chairperson’s name in the list or not. Certainly, He bagged the 55th position.
I was offended to see the name at 1st position. The position belongs to Mr. Rahul Gandhi. The IE says that “Power in this context is not about achievement, visibility or excellence - although these are factors - but about influence”. I agree people around India are influenced by Mr. Rahul Gandhi but name me those young people like us who are influenced by him and look forward to follow his footsteps. I have an open question to everyone. How many of us would like to go for Politics? Its my point of view . I am not posing my view on you but this is what I have seen around me l. No position among 100 in this list is bagged by any military official. May be , They are not much on tip of our tongues , can be the reason behind this. My say is where were our young achievers like Abhinav Bindra , Sania Mirza or Aishwarya Rai when the list was made.
Almost 50% positions in that list are given to Politicians. I wonder How Orissa CM or Political Secretary to Sonia Gandhi have influenced us. I know what is roaming in your mind. Yes we have Shahrukh Khan , Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the list . And Yes, Baba Ramdev as well
.
PS: IE, We look forward to see some meaningful names in ie 100 ‘10 .
